- I have a FDVSP internal modem that came with as AST computer. It is
- supposed to be able to do 28,8, but connection on any rate higher than
- 9600 lasts only 5 seconds and is terminated thereafter.
-
- The modem is strange. Win95 does not recognize it as a modem or serial
- port, so I cannot install a generic driver for it. The only way is to
- install driver from the disk. It came without any manuals for the modem,
- so I do not know any commands. Oh, by the way, the microphone is plugged
- into the modem, otherwise Sound Recorder won't record anything.
-
- If somebody has an answer to at least one question of the following,
- please let me know:
-
- 1. How do I find out the set of commands for this modem?
- 2. How do I make it work on a fast speed?
- 3. Why can't I install just the generic driver for it? Windows prompts me
- for the port and suggests to choose between COM1 and LPT1. The modem is
- internal and is COM2...
-
- Thank you very much
